School psychologists work as key members of an educational team. Through advanced training in mental health, 学习, and behavioral strategies, school psychologists help students succeed academically, 社会, 和行为, and support teachers’ capacity to educate all learners. 河的艾德.S. in 学校心理学 program will hone your critical thinking skills and create an enhanced breadth of professional knowledge.

This program includes 12 internship credits. 我们的课程, including program prerequisites, is designed to comply with New Hampshire Department of Education standards for school psychologist certification.

认证

  • Upon completion of this program, you will be eligible for certification in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, 和你.S. 领土, the Department of Defense Education Activity, 阿尔伯塔省, 英属哥伦比亚, and Ontario per the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement.
  • 在新罕布什尔州, school psychologists are certified by the Bureau of Credentialing, under the banner of the Department of Education. School psychology is considered an educational specialist certification. 认证 does not allow for private practice.
  • 研究生s may wish to apply for national certification. The Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) qualification is granted by the National 学校心理学 认证 Board.

Associate Professor of Education Cheryl Maykel, Ph.D. is a nationally certified school psychologist with state certification in school psychology in New Hampshire. Her current research interests are in the areas of mind-body health, childhood obesity and physical activity, and classroom disruptive behavior. 广泛发表, articles on her research appear in the Journal of Applied 学校心理学, the International Journal of School & Educational 心理学, and the Journal of Yoga and Physical Therapy, among many others.
